March News Letter

Happy March!

Hey ADKYP! Whew, where did February go?! TGIM–thank goodness it’s March! We don’t know about you, but we’re always glad that March offers the preview of Spring here in the North Country, and then also all the fun of the maple trees starting to run. Plus, it’s Women’s History Month! We are definitely suggesting supporting any and all local women-owned businesses this month, plus taking some time to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day in the third week. And who knows–maybe we’ll see a crocus or two by the end of the month! This month, our newsletter shares several local events to support women and their businesses, our ADKYP pop-up, and our usual featured member of the month!

Exciting News

We’re thrilled to share that UFirst Credit Union is now a corporate sponsor of Adirondack Young Professionals! We look forward to a great year with their support.

This month, we’re featuring Megan Manson! Megan is currently the Marketing Manager at the Lake Placid Olympic Center, and has been a member since 2016. She joined because she wanted to meet others around her age in the area, and build some community. It’s been helpful and valuable to her for nearly ten years! Why did she stay in? Well, she thinks that ADKYP brings a lot to the community; her memories include volunteering to help folks during the 2020 pandemic, helping out with the JCEO Backpack Program delivering foodstuffs to local children, and pitching in for the Plattsburgh Green-Up for Earth Day. Some accomplishments she’s had through her tenure in ADKYP have been an Award of Excellence from the NYS School Public Relations Association for the rebranding of the Plattsburgh City School District, but nowadays, she aims to sell out the Herb Brooks Arena at the Olympic Center…and she has come very, very close…. Down the road, she hopes you’ll catch her marketing an Olympic Team trials, a major concert at the Olympic Center, or maybe even on the front lines of a full Olympic bid for the northeast in the future. Fingers crossed!
